Authentic Greek Restaurant in Griffintown, Montreal

Restaurant Petros Griffintown sits on Rue William, in the heart of Griffintown, a few minutes from Downtown Montreal, Old Montreal and the rest of Le Sud-Ouest. It is an easy walk from the neighbourhood's offices and a convenient stop before or after an evening downtown.

The cooking is straightforwardly Greek: whole fresh fish taken to the grill, seafood, charcoal-grilled meats, mezze made for sharing, and traditional specialties such as moussaka and spanakopita. The fish changes with the market, and olive oil, lemon and oregano stay at the centre of nearly every plate.

The welcome is the one you would find in a Greek home — we take the time to walk you through the menu, suggest the catch of the day and build the table around your appetite. The room works just as well for dinner for two as it does for a family meal, an evening with friends, a group booking or a private event in the closed dining room. Petros is a bring-your-own-wine restaurant, so you are welcome to bring the bottle you would like with your meal.

Our menu follows Greek culinary tradition: it starts with spreads and mezze — tzatziki, taramosalata, kopanisti, eggplant — served with pita bread, followed by calamari, grilled octopus, spanakopita and vegetables from the grill.

Fresh fish is sold by the pound and grilled simply, finished with olive oil and lemon: sea bass, porgy, red snapper, depending on the day's delivery. From the grill, lamb chops, filet mignon skewers, tomahawk pork chop and Greek-style grilled chicken come with Greek potatoes, rice and fresh vegetables.

Petros Griffintown hosts birthdays, family celebrations, engagements and baptisms, as well as corporate events: team dinners, company dinners and client receptions. Our private dining room seats roughly 60 guests.
